SANDY>> Take a trip on man's private railroad
All aboard! The Sinking Springs Railroad trains are about to leave the station and take you on a tour
of Bob Adee's home gardens filled with Japanese lanterns, ponds and a plethora of exotic creatures.
Adee offers you a free ride on his private railroad in Sandy. He's the conductor, engineer, tour guide
and creator.
Adee was inspired to create his narrow-gauge, small scale train after a visit to the railroad museum
in Los Angeles. He has worked over the past four years to create a ride that loops though the front
and back gardens of his home.
Adee build the track, engine, caboose and cars, while his wife, Florence, designed the gardens that
incorporate plants, dragons and other fabled characters to the delight of children and adults. They
have stocked one of two ponds on the porperty with colorful koi.
"But we're not finished," Adee says. "Maybe it will never be finished.
Adee runs the small train railroad at his home, at 38604Park St. from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday
weather permitting. For more information or to arrange a ride: 503-730-0214 or
